Celebrations mark milestones in our lives. They are memorable. They bring families and friends together. Most importantly, celebrations bring smiles to our faces.
What types of celebrations do we enjoy and share?
1. Holidays/Calendared Events. Included in this category are Valentine's Day, Mardi Gras, Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
2. Birthdays. One for every year, that's a lot of potential parties.
3. Special Occasions. These are very happy milestones: graduations, weddings, births, baptism, anniversaries.
4. Sport Victories. Heralding the success of the winning team is a time-honored tradition.
5. Change of Seasons. Children dance around a May pole in spring; beach parties become the focus in summer; hay rides and October Fest are enjoyed in the fall; and freezing outside in fun but winding up before a warm fire is great winter fare.
6. Retirement. Acknowledging years of service for a coworker retiring is very appreciated.
7. Just Because! Last day before school starts? Someone moving away, or back home? Who needs an actual reason to have a pizza party? Certainly not me.
